Train of Events

The day’s event started off with a presentation from Julie Calloway, VLCM’s account manager for Arizona, followed by a presentation from Trent Fausett, one of VLCM’s Professional Services Engineers.

Julie discussed, in brief, the history and value of VLCM as a top IT reseller in the western states—mentioning that VLCM is the #1 HP reseller in the west and interested in partnering with their customers for all their IT needs.

With Trent at the helm, the topic moved in a very technical direction. Trent presented on HP Networking and Servers and discussed how business is moving forward in the cloud and SDN (Software Defined Networking) spaces—with HP leading the industry in SDN. Trent talked about how VLCM and HP are committed to helping their customers succeed by providing solutions for network mobility and SDN, particularly.

Trent ultimately expressed that with HP Networking, their customers will have accessibility and versatility throughout their infrastructures—catering to the reality that the old standard 9am-5pm work schedule at any given location just isn’t as common anymore. For this reason, HP makes certain that their servers are among the best and are able to keep up with the increasing demand for flexibility.

Fun and Games

After the presentations, lunch was served and then it was off to the races. The event included 2 ProKart Races per guest, plus ProScore Race Results. Each race was approximately 14 laps on a 1/3 mile road course. The top 3 racers got trophies—gold, silver, and bronze for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. It was a lot of fun for everyone involved. In the words of Julie Calloway: “Octane Raceway was a great forum and I would hold future events there again for sure!”
